I

developed and I can say that these procedures
revealed even a little greater benefit cost-
ratio than the old procedures. Furthermore we
have started to do some studies on the right-of-
way requirement around the reservoirs. We have
very little money as yet but we are using what
we have.

We are making the reconnaissance investi-
gations of the Cache la poudre Project. This is
continuing. I might say that the engineering and
hydrologic parts of the study are virtually com-
pleted; the economic study is not. We have gone
far enough to know that two of our alternates
should be feasible - one would be an Idylwilde
Reservoir by itself, simply to store and help
the water situation. This site is some 45
miles west of Fort Collins. Then the second
alternate which we believe will prove to be
feasible is an alternate containing a large
amount of power. This would use the Idylwiide
Reservoir for storage above the power facili-
ties; it would use a reservoir for terminal
storage just belOw the confluence of the North
Fork of the poudre and the main stem. We are
calling this one Grey Mountain and there would
be power generating facilities in between these
two reservoirs.

I

On the South Platte-Narrows study, we got
into this study and found that we had to study
a great deal larger area than just the area
around Fort Morgan and Narrows. The Steering
Committee asked us to make a site selection
between the Weld County site and the old Narrows
site, so we found the area we had to study
hydrologically was from Denver clear to the
state line on the main stem and a little bit
upstream we have to bring in the Barr Lake area
and the Prospect Valley area. This study so
far has resolved into four principal items.
The first is the compilation of hydrologic data
which consists of data on stream flows, precipi-
tation, amount of ground water pumped in this
area, the water diversions, the water use and
the stream outflow. We are considering these
