711

I

Preliminary water supply studies have been completed which
indicate that not all of the potential land areas can be
served by the project. Completion of a feasibility report
is scheduled for the spring of 1959.

Yampa-White Project

Since my last meeting with the Board, the Yampa-White
reconnaissance report was completed. Copies of the report have
been furnished to Mr. Crawford who has distributed the report
to interested parties. This project was discussed. particular-
ly the Yellow Jacket Unit by representatives of the Bureau at
the White River Soil Conservation District annual meeting at
Meeker on March 22.

San Miquel Project

Plans for the development of the San Miguel Project
were outlined in a status report prepared by the Bureau in
1953. Recently considerable interest in the project by local
water users has developed. Our present program provides for
initiating feasibility investigations in fiscal year 1959.
Investigations for the San Miguel project cannot be undertaken
until reports for the higher priority projects--Pine River Ex-
tension, Florida, Dolores,. ahd Animas-La Plata--are completed.

Savery-Pot Hook

A preliminary draft of a feasibility report was com-
pleted in July 1954 and circulated to the States of Wyoming and
Colorado. On February 7, 1957, another meeting was held in
Baggs, Wyoming, at which time the possibility of an independent
development of the Wyoming or Savery unit of the project was
discussed. The Colorado Water Users, by vote, favored the
Bureau proceeding with its report on the present plan, The
Wyoming users, however, voted to organize an irrigation dis-
trict, and then study the possibility of Wyoming building the
Savery, or Wyoming unit, separately. If their studies shbw
this cannot be done, they may then join Colorado in going for-
ward under the Bureau plan.

I

I understand that a local committee has been organ-
ized to establish the Savery-Pot Hook Water Conservancy Dis-
trict in Moffatt County, Colorado.

Bostwick Park Project

Land classification and drainage surveys were essen-
tially completed last month. Work is being continued on water
supply and plan formulation studies. A feasibility report is
scheduled for completion in early 1958.
