<br />Mr. Kroeger then recognized Mr. Greg Llafet, Executive <br /> <br />District. <br /> <br />Mr. Llafet confirmed his district's support of the <br /> <br />, <br />~ <br />, <br />. <br />, <br />t <br /> <br />Secretary of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy <br /> <br />position of the Lower South Platte Water Conservancy District <br /> <br />with respect to requesting $400,000 in Federal FY 1982 to <br /> <br />reinitiate construction on the Narrows project. Mr. Llafet <br /> <br />also presented for the Board's consideration a February 19, <br /> <br />1981, resolution of the Board of Directors of the Central <br /> <br />Water Conservancy district and Ground Water Management <br /> <br />Subdlstrict, and a March 3, 1981, resolution of the Board of <br /> <br />Directors of the Henrylyn Irrigation District, both of which <br /> <br />resolutions supported continuing construction on the Narrows <br /> <br />project (see Appendices E and F, respectively). <br /> <br />The next person to be recognized was Mr. Bud Bonesteel, <br /> <br />with the Ju1esburg IrrIgation District. Mr. Bonesteel spoke <br /> <br />in favor of the Narrows project and presented a letter from <br /> <br />the District, dated January 20, 1981, which expressed the <br /> <br />District's endorcement of the construction of the Narrows <br /> <br />project (see Appendix G). <br /> <br />The chairman then recognized Mr. Robert Tonsing, <br /> <br />President of Water for Colorado. Mr. Tonsing addressed <br /> <br />himself to the Narrows project, noting that his organization <br /> <br />does not necessarily support the Narrows over Colorado's <br /> <br />other projects. He noted, however, that his organization <br /> <br />felt that the Narrows deserved special attention since it had <br /> <br />already had a construction start and since, the opinion of <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />. <br />
