<br />1979 plan - Enlargement of Fruitgrowers Reservoir, <br />3-stage pumping to Surface Creek drainage area, <br />Lower Redlands Mesa and Lower Cedar Mesa. Exchanges <br />with Upper Leroux Creek to serve Upper Redlands Mesa. <br /> <br />4. Located in west-central Colorado on the south slope <br />of the Grand Mesa. Towns of Cedaredge and Hotchkiss <br />are in the project area. <br /> <br />V. Colorado River Water Quality Improvement Program <br /> <br />A. Lower Gunnison Unit <br /> <br />1. Funding <br /> <br />FY 81 <br />FY 82 <br /> <br />$560,000 <br />$475,000 (Proposed Reagan Budget) <br /> <br />2. Status - A recommended plan of concrete lining canals <br />chosen with public input. <br /> <br />3. We are completing a Lower Gunnison status report which <br />will be available for distribution in May. <br /> <br />4. Future activities - Feasibility report, due late this <br />calendar year, final EIS fall 1982. <br /> <br />5. Principal purpose and main features - Purpose is to <br />reduce salt load to the Colorado River from irrigated <br />lands in the Uncompahgre Valley. Would be accomplished <br />by concrete lining of canals and laterals by WPRS, and <br />on-farm improvements and efficiencies to be initiated <br />by SCS. <br /> <br />6. Located in western Colorado on the Uncompahgre River, <br />tributary to the Gunnison River. <br /> <br />B. Meeker Dome <br /> <br />1.
