Status - During process of plan refinement it became <br />apparent that some hydraulic and hydrologic factors <br />had greater importance than originally thought. <br />Revisions recognizing these factors resulted in B-C <br />less than unity. <br /> <br />A draft report has been prepared to preserve the <br />analysis and is under review. During remainder of <br />FY 81, report reviews will be completed. <br /> <br />3. Purpose of study was to determine feasibility of <br />adding additional hydroelectric generating capacity <br />at existing dam. <br /> <br />Selected plan was to add 55-MW unit to outlet works. <br />Would increase generating capacity from the existing <br />60-MW to 115-MW. <br /> <br />4. Blue Mesa Dam is located on the Gunnison River in <br />west-central Colorado west of the Town of Gunnison. <br /> <br />C. Grand Mesa Project <br /> <br />1. Funding <br /> <br />FY 81 <br />FY 82 <br /> <br />$142,000 <br />None (Proposed Reagan Budget) <br /> <br />2. Status - A number of alternatives studied, no justi- <br />fiable plan identified. Grand Mesa and North Fork <br />Water Conservancy Districts (project sponsors) <br />informed of situation December, 1980. Meeting arrange- <br />ments being made this month for additional discussion <br />with both boards regarding future activities. No <br />activities are contemplated for FY 82. <br /> <br />3. Multi-purpose water resource development for irriga- <br />tion, M&I, recreation, and F&w. 1973 plan features - <br />Electric Mountain and Cactus Park Reservoirs, Grand <br />Mesa Canal, various feeder and distribution canals and <br />laterals. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
