Mr. Ford: Just to make sure I am right on this, this project will go
forward along with the rest of them. If we do take action in Washington,
there will be no delay whatever.

Mr. Stapleton: It will have the same and equal priority with everything
else.

I

Mr. Fetcher: My understanding is, under Alternative No.2, that the
project size remains the same, is this correct?

Mr. Stapleton: That is correct. We are holding everything in. What
we have to do is retormulate the report.

Mr. Burr: It doesn't say how much they will increase the fishery main-
tenance. It just says they will increase.

Mr. Stapleton: That is the last alternative, if we come to that.

Is there any further discussion?

(No response.)

Mr. Stapleton: The question has been called for. All those in favor
signify by saying "aye".

(Answer (collectively) "aye".)

Opposed -- none, the resolution is carried unanimously. Mr. Sherman has
a statement at this time.

Mr. Sherman: Governor Lamm asked me, in view of the action of this board,
to make a statement on his behalf, related to Dallas Creek as follows:
"I am pleased to announce my full and unequivocal support for the Dallas
Creek project, which will greatly benefit the municipal, agricultural
and recreational interests of the Uncompahgre Valley. Based on my
communication with the Bureau of Reclamation, I have been assured that
the 24,000 acre-feet of water presently set aside for power conversion
purposes will instead be used for agricultural and other potential uses
in the Valley. 1 am eager to work with the Bureau of Reclamation and
the Tri-County Conservancy District in expediting the necessary changes
in the definite plan report to reflect the above mentioned change and
to assist Tri-County in securing construction funds from the United
States Congress. I will direct the appropriate state agencies to give
their full assistance and cooperation. It re-emphasizes meeting muniCiPal
and agricultural needs in the Valley, holds great promise for the region
and state, and I pledge mr, whole-hearted support to that end. Sincerely,
Richard D. Lamm, Governor'. Thank you. '

Mr. Staaleton: Thank you, Harris. That concludes the agenda items.
. Larry, 0 you have any information to give us about tonight, and then
we will meet here tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the same room.

(Whereupon, the meeting recessed at 4:40 p.m.)

~40-
