Water use efficiency audits conducted for Capitol Complex buildings <br /> <br />. Water conserving grass turfgrass installed around renovated buildings <br /> <br />. GOVERNOR'S MANSION: <br /> <br />. Since 1989, the lawn watering schedule follows an ever-third-day schedule and the ET rate <br /> <br />. An ultra low-volume toilet has been installed in the down stairs bathroom <br /> <br />. Irrigation nozzle heads have been relocated and shut-off devices have been installed <br /> <br />. The irrigation system is continually adjusted and monitored <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS <br /> <br />. Water use efficiency devices required in Captiol Construction projects <br /> <br />. Two correctional facilities irrigated with lagoon discharge water <br /> <br />. Irrigation at facilities on the East Canon City Complex are converting from potable to non-potable sources <br /> <br />. Grey water systems application is researched and encouraged <br /> <br />. Agricultural applications are constantly being improved <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF INSTITUTIONS <br /> <br />. Lawn irrigation systems at Ft. Logan and Wheat Ridge are partially automated with controllers <br /> <br />. Pueblo Center has installed moisture sensors to override time clocks <br /> <br />. Installation of moisture sensors are considered for all facilities <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br /> <br />. The west entrance to Cherry Creek and Ridgeway Parks are landscaped using xeriscape techniques; <br />xeriscape installations are planned for Ridgway Dallas creek, Castlewood Canyon park headquarters <br />and the Arkansas River park headquarter <br /> <br />. Visitor and school group education at state parks includes interpretation and discussion of dry land and <br />native landscapes <br /> <br />. Turfgrass in state parks is irrigated with non-potable water whenever possible, standard landscape <br />design includes drip irrigation, less than 1% of park lands have irrigated turf <br /> <br />. All lavatories and showers in park facilities have time metering valves <br /> <br />21 <br />
