The Soil Conservation Board is consulted to assist in promoting efficient use of irrigation water by lessees <br /> <br />. Agricultural irrigation efficiency is encouraged through the Low Energy Precision Application prograe <br />many farmers statewide have participated in this program <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br /> <br />. Policy Directive No. 503 in place since 1 977 and revised to include mandated xeriscape fundamentals <br /> <br />. Any local water conservation directives are closely followed <br /> <br />. Projects routinely incorporate flow meters for leak detection, moisture shut-off sensors, non-potable <br />water, efficient irrigation equipment and water efficient planting in landscape plans <br /> <br />. Two rest areas have installed self-composting toilets, low-flow toilets or auto shut-off sinks and fountains <br /> <br />.
