<br />Project Name: Roaring Fork Multi-Objective Planning Project <br /> <br />Project Description: Senate Bill 96-153 provided funding for a Multi-Objective Study of the . <br />Roaring Fork and Fryingpan Rivers in response to the flooding experienced in 1995. The CWCB <br />has retained a consulting engineering rum to perform that study. During the course of the project, it <br />was determined that additional tasks and funding would greatly benefit the overall project. <br />Additional funding in the amount of $20,000 would provide the following tasks: I) additional GIS <br />work; 2) increased detail in wetlands, wildlife and recreation analysis; 3) a preliminary analysis of <br />the geologic factors contributing to stream stability; and 4) additional Steering Committee meetings <br />and training session for local GIS personneL <br /> <br />Total Project Cost: $70,000 <br /> <br />CWCB Requested Amount: $20,000 <br /> <br />Project Name: CWCB Internet Flood Page and Colorado Flood Task Force <br /> <br />Project Description: The CWCB Flood Information Page is an efficient method for presenting the <br />findings of the Colorado Flood Task Force. The Task Force is made up of experts from 13 federal <br />and state agencies and representatives from private engineering and meteorological rums. The <br />CWCB funding request is to fulfill contractual commitments to consultants that will provide expeit <br />data, information, and software programs. The consulting services will assist in flood forecasting <br />and flood preparedness for the Colorado spring and summer flood season. Products will consist of . <br />flood outlook reports and modernization of the flood information page. <br /> <br />Total Project Cost: $10,000 <br /> <br />CWCB Requested Amount: $10,000 <br /> <br />Project Name: Statewide Drainage and Floodplain Management Criteria Manual <br /> <br />Project Description: The staff presents a scientific project for the development of a Statewide <br />Floodplain Management and Storm Drainage Criteria Manual, and requests funding in the amount <br />of $150,000. 'The Criteria Manual would address Colorado's need for consistent guidelines, criteria, <br />and regulations regarding stormwater detention, storm drainage conveyance, and floodplain <br />management. At this time, existing criteria manuals consist of a handful of publications developed <br />by local governments and special districts. Some are very comprehensive and have been used <br />extensively within specific geographic areas (i.e. Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual), but this <br />is not the statewide norm.
