The existing ditch systern <br />is 3.6 miles in length and carries approximately 9 cfs. This project involves piping the existing open <br />ditch system with 8-inch to 21-inch PVC pipe and installing meters at each delivery point. The project is <br />part of the NRCS Salinity Control Program. NRCS will be contributing a $267,000 grant towards design <br />and construction of the project, which will be applied to the CWCB loan. The final CWCB loan amount <br />is anticipated to be $160,700. <br /> <br />2 I . Type. _: Reservoir)~,ehllbilitati()J1__ . <br />- - --- --- <br /> <br />The Bijou Inigation District owns and operates Empire Reservoir located west of Fort Morgan. It is an off- <br />stream reservoir primarily impounded by four separate dams constructed around 1905. The water storage <br />rights are 37,709 acre-feet and there is on refill right. The storage volume at gage height 30 is 36,142 acre- <br />feet. Currently the reservoir is restricted to gage height 29 by the State Engineer's Office due to seepage <br />concerns and spillway inadequacies. This project will involve the construction of a new 4O-foot wide <br />spillway and outfall channel with a crest elevation of 30 feet. The 1 foot increase in storage height will result <br />in 2,682 acre-feet of recovered storage. The project is currently under design and is anticipated to commence <br />construction in December of2ooS. <br /> <br />22. East Mancos Hi2hline Ditch COIllDllllV Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: East Fork Mancos River <br />Terms of Loan: $904,ooo@ 2.5% for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />COlUlty: Montezuma <br />Project Yield: 869 AF <br />Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The East Mancos Highline Ditch Company is comprised of 6 members that manage 5.75 miles of open <br />ditch, with an annual diversion of approximately 870 cfs and a 700 acre service area. This project <br />involves piping the 5.75 miles of ditch with IO-inch to IS-inch PVC Pipe to create a pressurized system <br />for the users. The project is a joint effort with NRCS's Salinity Control Program. NRCS is contributing <br />75% of the cost towards the design and construction of the project. The project is anticipated to <br />commence construction in December of 2005. <br /> <br />23.
