<br />The Supply Irrigation Ditch Company is proposing to rehabilitate the Knoth Reservoir for use as an . <br />equalizer. and for storage under a conditional decree for 542 acre-feet. The average annual volume <br />diverted now is 9,500 acre-feet, which will be increased to 10,040 acre-feet with the project <br />improvements in place. The planned improvements include, reshaping the upstream face of the dams and <br />the placement of clay, installation ofa toe drain, construction of 200 foot long spillway, placement of rip <br />rap, raising the dam crest on both dams to gage height 30-ft., removal of two abandoned outlets, and the <br />repair of the existing outlet to a good working condition. The proposed improvements are being <br />designed by Smith Geotechnical, of Fort Collins, Colorado with the project tentatively scheduled for <br />construction in fall of 2004. The Town provides water <br />service to its residents through a master metering arrangement with the City of Florence Regional Water <br />System. Coal Creek provides raw water to Florence and Florence treats the water and returns it to the <br />Town of Coal Creek for use. Coal Creek's existing water rights, dated 1884 have been out of priority <br />give the current drought conditions. In order to mitigate this situation the Town is in the process of <br />purchasing 100 shares from the Union Ditch COnlpany, which equates to approximately 125 acre-feet of <br />which 34 acre-feet is allowable for consumptive use. Total cost ofthe water purchase is approximately . <br />$75,000. <br /> <br />11. South Side Irril!lltion Comoany South Side Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $360,ooo@ 3.10"10 for 30 yrs. <br /> <br />County: Larimer - Near Loveland <br />Project Yield: 1,241 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The South Side Reservoir Company operates the South Side Reservoir, which provide irrigation water <br />within a I,S90-acre service area. The South Side Reservoir is located approximately 1 mile southwest of <br />the City of Loveland. This $400,000 project involves rehabilitation of the outlet structure and spillway. <br />These improvements will eliminate the current storage restrictions imposed by the State Engineers Office. <br />The project is currently under design 'and is scheduled for construction in the winter of 2005. <br /> <br />12. Poudre Tech Metro District - Dual Water Svstem <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre <br />Terms of Loan: $2,180,OOO@4.7S% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Weld <br />Project Yield: 740 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Water Supply <br /> <br />Poudre Tech Metro District, among other services, provides outside irrigation water for the Water Valley <br />and Hilltop Subdivisions, located in the Town of Windsor. The purpose of this project is to construct the <br />infrastructure to expand its services to supply outside irrigation water to an additional I 500 residential <br />homes. The proposed construction activities include the completion of two reservoirs with a combined <br />storage capacity of 2,000 acre-feet, three pumping plants, and the installation of 67,000 linear feet of 4- . <br />inch to to-inch irrigation pipe and associated valves, fittings, and taps. The earthwork is currently under <br />construction. Engineering design for the head gate, intake, and pumping facilities has been completed. <br /> <br />58 <br />
