The pump plant was <br />built in the 1960's and is located 2 miles east of the Town of Silt. The current pumping plant has a <br />capacity of 36 cfs and delivers 4,000 acre-feet per year. Excel Energy must replace the existing pump <br />plant transformer due to an upgrade of transmission line. Western Area Power Administration will <br />design the project in 2003. The total project cost is anticipated at $550,000. Excel Energy has indicated <br />to Silt that the need for the new transformer will not be required until 2006/07. Loan contract will be <br />modified to accommodate the time extension. <br /> <br />7. The Union Ditch Company has filed application for an augmentation plan to <br />provide replacement water for 40 junior wells owned by the shareholders, formerly serviced by GASP. <br />This project involves the development of 3 recharge ponds, placement of flow measurement devices, and <br />headgate structures into the ponds. The ponds will be filled by gravity flow from the Union Ditch. <br />Union Ditch Company is planning on construction I of the recharge ponds this spring (Mecure # 1 site) <br />with the remaining 2 ponds to be constructed in the falVwinter of 2005/06. <br /> <br />8. This project involves the construction of 4 recharge ponds, 1 <br />recharge well, pipeline construction, and water right purchases to offset the depletions from 4 irrigation <br />wells.
