<br />FY06 Counties <br />Pre-SeoplDg Notlftcatloo Letten were mailed to community CEOs and County Commissioners <br />informing them of the potential DFIRM project and meetings in November. Over 100 letters were <br />sent to all communities, with copies to floodplain administrators and GIS professionals in Weld, <br />Teller, LaPlata, Archuleta, San Miguel, and Mineral County. Letters will be sent to Summit, Lake <br />and Park Counties early in 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />FIoodplalD Map ModerDlzatloD Update: Much activity has occurred in the Map Modernization <br />Program in the last two months. Activity is summarized as follows: <br /> <br />A FEMA pre-scoplng grant has been approved to provide some funding for pre-scoping efforts by <br />the two selected contractors, PBS&J and Anderson Consulting Engineers. <br /> <br />FYOS Counties <br /> <br />The master cODtraet has beeD approved for the selected contractors and is in place. Scopes of <br />Work for Task Orders have been submitted by PBS&J for Mesa, Fremont, and Clear Creek Counties, <br />as well as for additional work on Larimer County. Garfield County is still in the scoping process, and <br />a SOW is anticipated by mid-November from PBS&J. SOWs have not been received for Pueblo and <br />Montezuma Counties from Anderson Consulting Engineers but are expected shortly. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The projects are behind schedule due to contracting delays, but it is hoped that the Task Orders can be <br />processed quickly and the contractors will work with the State to try to make up the delays. <br /> <br />FY04/03 Counties <br /> <br />Larimer and Boulder County ha'Ve had F1aal COllSuItatlon CoordloatloD OfIIcer meetiugs and all <br />appears to be proceeding toward the goal of effective maps by September 2006. Adams (DUDFCD), <br />Arapahoe (DUDFCD), Fremont (Baker), and Clear Creek (Baker) Counties have had prl'lImln_ry <br />releases. Eagle County maps are to be released in November through Baker. <br /> <br />Outreach <br /> <br />A successful presentation was made at the CASFM conference on DFIRMs: What a Community <br />Should Know. As part of this presentation, many helpful outreacb materials were created and <br />gathered by CWCB for use in relaying important information to local officials. Local governments <br />have responded positively to being provided thcse relevant informational handouts. <br /> <br />Other <br /> <br />An update to the State's busluess case plaD was provided to FEMA, and FEMA quarterly reports <br />were delivered. The Map Mod program CODtlDUes to be moving ID a positive direction with <br />involvement from Federal, State, and local partners and consulting flrJllS. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Captain Daniel C. McAuUffe Receives Medal- On October 20 Lieutenant General, Russel L. Honore, <br />USA Commander, Joint Task Force Katrina awarded Captain McAuliffe the Joint Service Achlevemeot <br />Medal for his outstanding professional skill, knowledge, and leadership which resulted in outstanding <br />support to the Staff Judge Advocate and Joint Staff Force both main and forward. Through his distinctive <br />accomplishments, Captain McAuliffe reflected credit upon himself, the United States Army Reserve, and <br />the Department of Defense. <br /> <br />CWCB Staff Elected to Represent Professional OrgaDlzatlons: Tom Browning, Flood Section Chief, <br />was formally elected to the Association of State Floodplain Managcrs (ASFPM) Board of Directors on <br /> <br />33 <br />
