<br />Grantee/Contractor: CWCB Amount of request: $50,000 <br /> <br />Cost share and partners: EI Paso County and Natural Resource Conservation Service <br />(NRCS) <br /> <br />Schedule: The NRCS has approved a 3-year work plan for this project; however, the <br />federal funds await non-federal matching funds. <br /> <br />Product Produced: Field surveys and electronic topographic maps of the floodplain. <br />The surveys and maps will be used as the non-federal match and will be the basis for an <br />NRCS engineering analyses. <br /> <br />Water planuing relationship: The watershed experienced major flooding in 1995. A <br />number of small reservoirs were at risk of failure and floodplain areas were inundated. <br />The watershed is experiencing much growth and development. The floodplain delineation <br />study will provide the engineering information to implement a growth and floodplain <br />management plan. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Colorado Flood Task Force <br /> <br />Grantee/Contractor: A CWCB Contractor Amount of request: $10,000 <br /> <br />Cost share and partners: The Flood Task Force is made up of 15 federal, state and <br />private sector meteorology and hydrology experts who contribute to an annual Colorado <br />Flood Outlook. <br /> <br />Schedule: Annual program that will begin Feb. I, 2002 <br /> <br />Product Produced: A weekly Flood Outlook Report and daily flood data on the CWCB <br />web page. <br /> <br />Water planning relationship: The snowmelt runoff data and flood outlooks assist water <br />users and others to prepare for floods, with management planning and with stream <br />diversion operations to reduce flood losses. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3.PMP/PMF Study for Cherry Creek Dam <br /> <br />Grantee/Contractor: CWCB Amount of request: $50,000* (* A detailed scope <br />of work is in-progress and indications are that the total study cost may exceed the initial <br />estimate of$ 250,000.) <br /> <br />Cost share and partners: Greenwood Village, Aurora, Arapahoe County, Douglas <br />County, and UD&FCD <br /> <br />Schedule: Begin July I, 2001 and complete within the fiscal year. ' <br /> <br />Product Produced: An Site Specific PMP and PMF Study for the Cherry Creek Dam <br />and Reservoir. <br /> <br />Water planning relationship: The Cherry Creek Dam and Reservoir is a major flood <br />control project in the South Platte River Basin and protects the Denver Metro Area. <br />There has been controversy regarding a Corps of Engineers Cherry Creek Dam Safety <br /> <br />. <br />
