stored water I am referring to. That figures out, under present
consumption, about thirty-two days supply of raw stored water.

One of the reasons is we have an old system and it leaks. Based upon
average daily consumption, we' use about 640 gallons per day per person.
And most of that is'due to leaks.in our present system. The City
Council has passed a resolution to put in'meters and to put in a new
distribution system. That way we can get better utilization ,out of our
existing water.

The population that was projected for 1980, we 'have already surpassed.
So, gentlemen, we do need your help. , We appreciate it. ~hank you very

The next one On our list is Brighton.

MR. SPARKS: Mr.' Chairman, Brighton is 'another couununiEy that just a.
few years ago was a very small faimcommunity. But in recent years, .it
has been one of the fastest growing communities in the Denver'suburban
area. The urban sprawl has caught up with Brighton.

The average growth for the past five years has been about eleven per-
cent per year, which is a rather substantial increase. It's antici~
pated, hopefully; that that growth will slow down a little in the next
ten years. ~ -,

Brighton derives its water supply entirely from wells in the alluvium of
