<br />Afternoon Session, June 22, 1945 <br /> <br />The meeting reconvened and was called to order by Vice-Chair- <br />man Chris Wallrich at 2:30 p.m., at which time the consideration of the <br />underground water investigation in the State of' Colorado was resumed. <br /> <br />W. E. Code of the Colorado Agricultural COllege, who for a <br />number of years had made certain studies and investigations of under- <br />ground waters and of existing pumping development in various sections <br />of the State of Colorado, explained the nature of his work and made sug- <br />gestions for the correlation of,his activities with the proposed inves- <br />tigation by the U. S. Geological Survey and the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board. <br /> <br />It vms moved by Judge John B. O'Rourke and seconded by <br />J. M. Dille that the follornng resolution be passed: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HOuse Bill No. 432 of the 35th General Assem- <br />bly of the State of Colorado, approved April 18, 1945 by <br />the Honorable John C. Vivian, Governor of the State of Colo- <br />rado, appropriated $25,000 for the biennium beginning July <br />1, 1945, and ending June 30, 1947, to the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board to enable said Board with the approval of <br />the Governor to make cooperative surveys and il:IVestigations <br />and share the expense thereof under agreements with the <br />United States Geological Survey, Ground Water Division, con- <br />cerning the ground water resources of Colorado for the pur- <br />pose of aiding in the protection and the greater and more <br />beneficial use thereof, and seouring factual, engineering <br />and other information relating to underground water supplies <br />and resources; and <br /> <br />,YHEREAS, The United States Geologioal Survey, Ground <br />Water Division, has submitted a form of contract for such <br />cooperative surveys and investigations, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and made a pert of the minutes of this meet- <br />ing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Colorado Water Conservation Board has oon- <br />sidered said contract and believes it to be in proper form <br />for execution; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board that <br /> <br />1. The Director of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board is hereby authorized and directed to execute such <br />Contract with the United States Geological Survey, Ground <br />Water Division for and on behalf of the State of Colorado, <br />and to do any and all things necessar"J to carry said con- <br />tract into effect; <br /> <br />2.
