1

MR. NELSON:

MR. SPARKS:

MR. NELSON:

MR. STAPLETON:

DR. CLARK:

1

Representatives without any difficulty. They
are now in the Senate. As far as we are
able to determine there is no difficulty what-
soever. We did have to place an amendment
in the Senate on House Bill No. 183 which re-
lates to the general conservancy districts
because the Ute Conservancy District came up
with another problem. Again, as these con-
servancy districts are being organized,
added to, and extracted from, we are encount-
ering problems which the original draft of
this legislation did not foresee. Actually
this conservancy district law is going to be
in a state of constant flux until we weed out
some of the very sloppy language in the
original bill."

"What is the status of the underground
water bill? Is anything being done at all?"

"I have my doubts that anything will be
done on that."

"I haven't seen anything in the press
and I just wondered."

"Before we adjourn, I'd like for Dr. Clark
to make a report or any comments he would
like to make, from the Department of Natural
Resources."

"Mr. Chairman, it's a pleasure indeed to
make this very short report. I'm extremely
delighted with the very fine cooperation
that is now going on between this Board and
its staff and the Game and Fish Department
and its Commission. Your staff is giving
valuable service to the Game and Fish Depart-
ment. And I'll say this, even if I would
have said if I had been dealing with the Game
and Fish Commission, I think the services of
your staff have pointed up the necessity for
the Game and Fish Commission to really con-
sider water in a serious manner. I believe
that the progress that has been made in the
last few months is certainly going to be
fruitful in the future.
