MR. STAPLETON:

DR. CLARK:

MR. SPARKS:

jurisdiction of the Department of Natural
Resources. The Sar Association has set up
the mechanics now to give great assistance to
the water recodification study and offers of
assistance have come in from other agencies -
the Chamber of Commerce, the City and County
of Denver, the Water Congress which has been
pushing this all along, and other agencies
which have all indicated their 'desire to
assist in this important study. It will be a
controversial matter. It is going to be ex-
tremely difficult and complex and as I origin-
ally stated, our deadline is two years from
the date we start. We believe now that the
people who will help with this will be placed
under contract commencing the 1st of April to
start this study. Such has been the
case of our Board member Dr. McCandless, in
connection with the Savery-Pot Hook. Ted has
taken an active part in that project and there
are some real problems in connection with it
as the Board already knows. In connection
with the repayment and another one that we
now face concerning land resettlement, but we
believe those problems will be solved.

1

A large part of the land of the project
is state land, owned by the State of Colorado
and, of course, to make the project go that
land will have to be opened up for sale. The
State Land Board has given every cooperation
