<br />we are very much afraid that situation is <br />going to continue. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />I can at least report that we have <br />finally filled our position of Supervising <br />Water Resources Analyst, at least on a tempo- <br />rary basis. Mr. Don Hamburg, formerly of the <br />Denver Water Board, has been appointed a <br />temporary employee in that position. Mr. <br />Hamburg is a graduate engineer and a graduate <br />lawyer. We therefore expect to get double <br />mileage out of him. He will take a consider- <br />able burden off my own shoulders. He will <br />handle our publications and perform analyses <br />of various problems and will also be of con- <br />siderable assistance to the remainder of the <br />staff. <br /> <br />This meeting today will be quite short <br />and perhaps we can either complete it this <br />morning or early this afternoon. <br /> <br />One of the major items I have to report <br />on is that of the water recodification study. <br />We have requested funds, or rather Dr. Clark <br />has requested funds, for this purpose for the <br />forthcoming fiscal year. We are not able to <br />get a supplemental appropriation apparently <br />for this purpose, but the Governor has indi- <br />cated that he can assist in the program up to <br />July 1st. We have not moved as rapidly on <br />this program as we had hoped due to the tre- <br />mendous pressure of other business. We have <br />had to look after the laws that have been <br />introduced in both the Congress and the Colo- <br />rado LegiSlature, We are over the hurdle we <br />believe, as far as the Colorado Legislature <br />is concerned. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />We have obtained recommendations from <br />all of the conservancy districts and are in <br />the process now of obtaining recommendations <br />from the City and County of Denver with refer- <br />ence to the water recodification study. We <br />andticipate that within the next ten days <br />this committee will be organized and function- <br />ing. As you recall, this is under the <br />
