we are very much afraid that situation is
going to continue.

I can at least report that we have
finally filled our position of Supervising
Water Resources Analyst, at least on a tempo-
rary basis. Mr. Don Hamburg, formerly of the
Denver Water Board, has been appointed a
temporary employee in that position. Mr.
Hamburg is a graduate engineer and a graduate
lawyer. We therefore expect to get double
mileage out of him. He will take a consider-
able burden off my own shoulders. He will
handle our publications and perform analyses
of various problems and will also be of con-
siderable assistance to the remainder of the
staff.

This meeting today will be quite short
and perhaps we can either complete it this
morning or early this afternoon.

One of the major items I have to report
on is that of the water recodification study.
We have requested funds, or rather Dr. Clark
has requested funds, for this purpose for the
forthcoming fiscal year. We are not able to
get a supplemental appropriation apparently
for this purpose, but the Governor has indi-
cated that he can assist in the program up to
July 1st. We have not moved as rapidly on
this program as we had hoped due to the tre-
mendous pressure of other business. We have
had to look after the laws that have been
introduced in both the Congress and the Colo-
rado LegiSlature, We are over the hurdle we
believe, as far as the Colorado Legislature
is concerned.

We have obtained recommendations from
all of the conservancy districts and are in
the process now of obtaining recommendations
from the City and County of Denver with refer-
ence to the water recodification study. We
andticipate that within the next ten days
this committee will be organized and function-
