Bill, you have been working on Battle-
ment Mesa since the last meeting. Do you
have anything you'd like to report on that?"

"The people of the area of Battlement
Mesa are going to go ahead with the organiza-
tion of a conservancy district. It will take
several months to organize it and they will
qualify for the Bureau to proceed with the
feasibili ty stUdy."

"Mr. Eakes, do you have anything you'd
like to report on the Dolores Project?"

"On the Dolores Project, we are in the
process of organizing a conservancy district.
The proposed petition has been submitted to
the Bureau for their approval. As soon as
it is back there will be a meeting called
of the people that will be under the project
at which time we will go ahead with the sign-
ing up of the district."

Organization of conservancy districts on
the eastern slope, as you know, consists of
the Purgatoire District and they are organized
but. they don't move very fast. They just got
organized but I don't believe we know what we
are going to be able to do to build a fire
under them to get the lid off to get the
transfer proceedings started. I've had some
help from Mr. Bunger but I noticed from Mr.
Barrett's report that the Corps' report would
be in by the end of December and certainly
things are going to need to be completed over
there as far as transfer proceedings are con-
cerned as soon as possible if they are not
