<br />, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />· compile the drought reserve capacities and compare with existing contingency plans; <br />. assess and evaluate the drought contingency plans based upon any instance where drought plans or <br />conservation measures were implemented for an actual drought or shortage occurrence; <br />· assess what contingency plans are in place for dry years; and <br />. provide a listing and explanation of the statutory authorities for any of the state's govennnental bodies, <br />producers, businesses, and others to deal with a drought situation, (What are the legal options?) <br />Task 6: The >>roiect will create a re>>ort on Wet and Drv Years over the >>ast 300 years, Incorporate a <br />statistical report on wet and dry periods in Colorado and a background section on the history of droughts <br />particularly the 19305 and 1950s. <br />The contractor's report will include: <br />. a summary of population projections and of periods of drought in Colorado's major river basins; <br />. a brief, easily understandable picture of the wet and dry periods by year in Colorado over the past three <br />hundred years; <br />. an interim document that presents both the frequency and duration of dry and wet years and illustrates <br />the historical development of water storage and usage in the state; <br />. a review of the existing data from the Office of the State Climatologist, the Denver Water Board, the <br />National Weather Service and other relevant local, state and federal agencies; a graphical display <br />summarizing in a easily interpreted form by the majority of viewers, the historic wet and dry cycles in <br />Colorado; and <br />. research and graphically show the wet and dry cycles over the past 300 years using statistical data for <br />the last 100 years and tree ring and paleo-climatological data from the previous 200 years. <br /> <br /> <br />v. Project Administration <br />The contractor will make oral and written briefings for each task to the advisory committee and the <br />CWCB. The project will be under the direction ofthe CWCB, The contractor will: <br />. prepare periodic summary reports, suitable for inclusion in the final project report at the completion of <br />each task; <br />· compile and report on the results of the survey and all related meetings and reports; <br />. present interim reports to the drought task force and incorporate their comments into the study results; <br />· prepare recommendations for an implementation plan; <br />· participate in meetings that are a review of the project by the advisory group and sponsors; and <br /> <br />7 <br />
