<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />Draft <br />11/26/82 <br /> <br />UNA RESERVOIR PROJECT STUDY <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />In 1981, the Colorado General Assembly authorized the <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) to conduct studies of <br /> <br />four potential water resources development projects (section 7, <br /> <br />S.B. 439). Among these was the "Una Reservoir--a dam and <br /> <br />reservoir on the Colorado mainstem upstream of the town of <br />DeBeque with the reservoir extending no further upstream than to <br />a point just downstream of Parachute Creek" (see Fig. 5-1). <br /> <br />The CWCB retainea R. W. Beck and Associates to perform the <br /> <br />Una Reservior project Study. Expenditures were limited by S.B. <br /> <br />439 to $300,000. In addition, S.B. 439 specifies that future <br /> <br />funding" .. is contingent upon a Showing that additional <br /> <br />funding is justified based on competent engineering and economic <br /> <br />data." <br /> <br />STUDY OBJECTIVE <br /> <br />The objective of this study is to evaluate, at an appraisal <br /> <br /> <br />level of detail, the engineering feasibility and cost of <br /> <br />140 <br />ur/fs <br />
