<br />278 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BEl IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board that, within suoh understanding of 'immediate post- <br />war period, t the following projeots and aotivities oonstitute the <br />immediate postwar water development program for the State of <br />Colorado, namelYI <br /> <br />L 'The Colorado-Big Thanpson projeot, The oontin~tion of <br />the oonstruotion of this projeot, being a development for the <br />exportation of water from the Colorado River Basin in Colorado <br />for the making of supplemental water supplies available to the <br />Northern Colorado Water Conservancy Distriot and for power de- <br />velopment, subjeot to the provisions of Senate Dooument No. 80, <br />75th Congress, 1st Session. <br /> <br /> <br />2. The Manoos projeot. The oontin~tion of the oonstruction <br />of this projeot in Southwestern Colorado to furnish supplemental <br />irrigation water supplies and for new lands near Manoos, 001 orad 0, <br />suoh projsot having been authorized-under the.Water Utilization <br />progr!\D1 (Case-Wheeler), and having been uncler".oonstruotion during <br />the war period with oonsoientious objeotor la'llor, <br /> <br />;. The Lo. Plata projeot. This is a projeot in Southwestern <br />Oolorado, oonsisting of two units, namely, (1) Long Hollow reser- <br />voir, to serve lands in Colorado, and (2) State Line reservoir, <br />to serve lands in New Mexioo, Suoh projeot has hot been authorized <br />but has been under study for many years and a final projeot report <br />is expeoted soon; and it is reoognized that the operation of the <br />La Plata Compaot between Colorado and New Mexioo and the serious <br />losses in orops and land values due to laok of water supplies, <br />make neoessary the earliest possible authorization and oonstruotion <br />of this projeot. <br /> <br />4. The Pine River Extension. This projeot provides for <br />oanals and improvements to make available water stored by the <br />presently oonstruoted Valleoito reservoir, looated in the San <br />Juan Basin, to lands which may be irrigated with suoh water sup- <br />plies. A final report is expeoted soon on this projeot and the <br />. canpletion of this development should be aooQllplished at the <br />earliest possible date in order to provide benefits for the lands <br />intended to be served by the Valleoito reservoir. <br /> <br />5. The Paonia projeot, This projeot is 100ated on the North <br />Fork of the Gunnison River and proposes the storage of water for <br />supplemental irrigation of lands near Paania, Colorado. This <br />projeot was authorized on March 18, 1939. An appropriation of <br />$300,000 for the projeot was made in 1940 and an additonal appro- <br />priation of $600,000 was made in 1942. No oonstruotion has taken <br />plaoe but further investigations and reports have been made. A <br />final report is ready for submission to the State for its pre- <br />liminary oamnents. <br /> <br /> <br />6, The Silt projeot, This projeot is looated near Rifle, <br />Colorado, .for the furnishing of supplemental water supplies for <br />presently irrigated lands. The final report is expected soon. <br />It was originally proposed to set up this projeot under the <br />
