<br />owing to the late snowmelt and August precipi- <br />tation. Large deviations occurred in local <br />areas and some sections of the eastern plains <br />particularly experienced extreme drouth. The <br />usual summer thunderstorms occurred in isolated <br />areas and resulted in some flooding, nothing <br />very serious, this past summer. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Our scheduled installation of new gaging <br />stations has been completed except for one <br />on the Arkansas River near Avondale which has <br />been delayed somewhat pending approval of the <br />landowner. <br /> <br />I have here a tabulation of gaging sta- <br />tions that were established during the summer <br />and also those that were discontinued. There <br />were a group of six stations established in <br />cooperation with the Denver Water Board in <br />Gore Creek basin: Dickson Creek, Freeman <br />Creek, East Meadow, Wearyman, Booth Creek, <br />and Middle Creek. TWo stations, regular <br />stations, were put in in cooperation with this <br />Board. One was on Thompson Creek near Carbon- <br />dale, which was a reestablishment. This was <br />put in at the request of the Bureau of Recla- <br />mation. And one on St. Vrain Creek near <br />Longmont. <br /> <br />In addition, a third station was put in <br />in cooperation with the Colorado River Water <br />Conservation District, piceance Creek below <br />Ryans Gulch. <br /> <br />Then there were several stations put in <br />in cooperation with, or at the request of, <br />the Bureau of Reclamation. These had to do <br />with the Fry-Ark Project. One on the western <br />slope, Hunter Creek above Midway Creek which I. <br />is in the vicinity of the proposed diversion. <br />Several on the Arkansas River; one near Malta, <br />Buena vista, Nathrop, Parkdale, Portland and <br />one on Fountain Creek at Security. The one on <br />the Arkansas River near Avondale will be put <br />in. The station on the Arkansas River near <br />Catlin Dam on which we have been getting some <br />tentative data previously, we are going to <br /> <br />if <br />
