I

Feasibility investigation was initiated
this fiscal year on the Upper Gunnison Project.
It's moving ahead. We are substantially on
schedule as far as our other investigations on
the Battlement Mesa, Bluestone, Grand Mesa and
Yellow Jacket Projects.

Going on to Advance Planning, Congress, in
one of their last actions before they adjourned,
did give us authorization to secure funds from
other projects for the Bostwick Park and Fruit-
land Mesa projects. I am happy to report that
we have secured funds on those two projects so
that we can proceed with advance planning work
on both of these projects. It is anticipated
that as far as Bostwick Park Project is con-
cerned, we can probably complete the repayment
negotiations and get our design data in shape
so that we can start work on that project proba-
bly a year from this coming spring.

We were disappointed that we did not get
authority to spend any money on the Savery-Pot
Hook Project. I think this was principally
due to the fact that on this project we do
have problems on land equivalents, size of
farm. In the hearings it was testified that
results from the Seedskedee development farm
should be used in arriving at a solution of
these problems and that we were to report to
the committees of Congress on our findings on
those matters. The problem on the Savery-Pot
Hook is the greatest and it will be sometime
before this information is available from the
development farm and I think that is probably
the reason we were not given authority to try
to secure funds for this project.

I might say that the funds were not given
to us as a budget item as they have been in the
past, but rather we were given a 'hunting
license' where we could take funds from other
projects if they were available.
