COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD
823 State Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203.

December 1980

APPLICATION - STATE WATER PROJECT

Fuchs Ranches, Inc, Project

Fuchs Ranches, Inc. applied to the Board for economic assistance
for repairs to their existing water project in October 1980.

The proposed project would involve the design and construction of
a new spillway and spillway channel for Fuchs dam, which is located on
the East Fork of Pinos Creek about 18 miles southwest of Del Norte,
Colorado. In addition to the above, repairs to a slide, developing near
the Forest Service road above the spillway, would also be part of the
proposed project,

A feasibility study addressing the above issues, studying
alternates, and evaluating costs is necessary. Both the State Engineer's
Office and the U.S. Forest Service staff, both of whom are very concerned
about the repairs, will be consulted.

The estimated project cost is about $100,000 and the feasibility
study is not expected to exceed ten percent of the total repair cost.
Possible state participation would be fifty percent of the feasibility
costs.
