COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD
823 State Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203

December 1980

APPLICATION - STATE WATER PROJECT

Paradox Valley Canal & Reservoir Project

The Paradox Valley Canal and Reservoir Company applied to CWCB
for a project in July, 1980. The proposed project includes:

(a) Preparation of a flood study for the drainage
area of the reservoir.

(b) Repairs of existing embankment, construction
of a spillway and improvement of rip-rap.

(c) Possible raising of the embankment depending
on findings from (a).

(d) Improvement and repairs of the existing outlet
works.

No visit has been made by the staff to the site, but the project
was discussed at some length with Ray Schuster of McDermith & Schuster
Consulting Engineers,

Although it is thought that any further comment on the proposed
feasibility of the project might be premature, since no site visit has
occurred or proposal for a feasibility, it appears to the staff ,that
a study will cost about $20,OOOt.

Possible state participation $10,000~.
