I

spillway, outlet works, and the excavation for
the necessary road relocations. The contrac-
tor has started on the excavation of the diver-
sion tunnel and is approximately halfway through
now. The most recent activity on this project
was the opening of bids on January 19th for the
silt Pump Canal. The low bidder for this work
was the Western states Construction company of
Loveland, Colorado.

Moving on to the storage Project reservoirs,
as already mentioned, three generating units are
operating at near capacity. The fourth unit is
scheduled for operation this week. We had a
high runoff during the ~onth of December .and it was
necessary to bypass some water during December
past the turbines at Glen Canyon.

You will note in the formal report that we
have a runoff forecast. That forecast was made
as of the first of January and has now been
revised as of the first of February. with this
present storm I anticipate that we will revise
it again on the first of March. The figure in
the February forecast, instead of 9,000,000
acre-feet as shown in the report, should now be
9,600,000. Also the forecast for the runoff
into Navajo Dam should be revised to 920,000
acre-feet and at Flaming Gorge to 1,270,000 acre-
feet.

I

Now what is anticipated in the future on
the operation of these reservoirs is that re-
leases from Navajo Reservoir will be increased
to minimize the possibility of the water rising
to interfere with the Navajo Irrigation project
and the tunnel leading from the reservoir. We
anticipate that the minimum storage this spring
will be about 230,000 acre-feet and will rise
during the spring runoff to 455,000 acre-feet
by July. storage as of February 7th at that
reservoir was 313,300 acre-feet.

At Flaming Gorge the reservoir is steadily
dropping. On February 7th it had dropped to
935,500 acre-feet. We expect this reservoir to
drop to about a capacity of 580,000 acre-feet
