MR. DUGAN:

I MR. STAPLETON,

MR. JENNINGS:

I

they'd like to ask ~tr. Dugan? I guess you are
moving so fast we can't quite keep up with you:"

"I didn't intend to do that. It is nice to
be here. Thank you."

"Fine, thank you. \'1e appreciate it. By
that, I meant your projects are moving so
fast.

All right, we'll call on Mr. Jennings for
a report from Region 4, please."

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, ladies
and gentlemen, we also have submitted a formal
report to your Board. I'll review that briefly
and try to update it in a few instances.

Since the last report to this Board, the
prime contractor on the Glen canyon Dam has
completed all work and has moved out of the
area. The completion contractor, the contractor
responsible for installation of turbines, gener-
ators, and miscellaneous electrical facilities,
is progressing just about on schedule. The test-
ing of Unit No. 3 in the powerplant was completed
during December and the unit was placed in com-
mercial operation on December 11, 1964. The
fourth unit is presently undergoing its final
testing and it is expected that it will go on
the line this week.

Moving on to the Curecanti Unit, at Blue
Mesa Dam construction work was CUI tailed early
in January. I guess we can't have favorable
construction weather and also weather that is
going to give us a lot of water for our reser-
voirs at the same time. The major part of the
work that he has been doing on Blue Mesa Dam
has consisted of construction in the powerplant
structure, the channel improvement, and that
work that is under cover and is not seriously
curtailed by the inclement weather. He has
completed to date about 130 feet of the embank-
ment proper. There remains about 230 feet to
top out the dam. It is anticipated that this
work should be completed by october of this year
