We have deferred further planning on the
Sangre de cristo Project pending completion of
some of our more detailed analyses of the power
facilities on the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project.
We will get into that potential when we are
better able to see what these works will do to
complement what will be built on the Fryingpan-
Arkansas Project.

The Trinidad Project report was made avail-
able, as you knOW. On December 2, 1964, we
attended a meeting with the Board of Directors
of the purgatoire River Water Conservancy Dis-
trict to present the findings of the report and
to discuss the repayment contract problems.
This meeting was attended by Congressman-Elect
Evans and former Congressman Chenoweth. It was
also attended and participated in by members
of the Corps of Engineers from the District
Office in Albuquerque.

There was also a meeting held in Denver
on January 15th at which some representatives
from the Board of Directors were present. the
attorneys for the District, your Director, and
members of the Corps of Engineers' staff. This
meeting was held to discuss some of the problems
and how they might be approached in the further
negotiation of a repayment contract.

We were very pleased to sign a repayment
contract with the Southeastern Colorado Water
Conservancy District for the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project on January 21st. This contract calls
for the repayment of about $68 million and also
OM&R charges to permit us to accomplish the
amortization of the irrigation, municipal and
industrial water features of the project. This
is a real milestone in our activities on the
Fryingpan-Arkansas.

We have essentially completed all work
under a contract with Ladwig Building and Manu-
facturing Company for construction of field
facilities for our western slope activity.
