The expend-
iture for September Wll.S $214.45. You will note that the expenditures
were less than the state Engineer estimated due to the faat that some of
the special deputies were removed near the end of the time there was
only one up there. Now the total including September was $1140.85 whioh
was less than the estimated amount wbiah the Board authorized. The
Board authorized $1280 and paying September it was under the estimate,
and believing that it would be satisfaatory to the Board I approved the
expenditure for September and it was paid. Now the only aCltion I 8Jll. asking
is that the Board approve that expenditure."

It was moved by Mr. Dille and seoonded by Mr. Hinderlider that the ex-
penditure made by the Direotor for employment of speoial deputies in the Laramie
Ri vel.' be approved.

Motion was duly passed, adopted and approved.

It was then reported to the Board that the 60rps of Army Engineers had
oompleted its report of the investigatiGn of Bear'Creek, tributary of the Platte
.River, hear Denver, Colorado, aovering :measures for flood aontro1 on -l:hat stream;
and that the report was being withheld from submission to higher authority ill.
Washington for neaessary assuranaes on the part of 10aal interests that the
projeat improvements would be maintained arter aonstruation, the government
saved from any d!l.llll!:ges whioh might Mcri.le from suah flood aontrol struatures
and neoessary easement rights obtained without expense to the government for
oontemp1ated flood control works. It appeared that there were no loaal
organizations in a position to make suoh assuranoes and that the teahnical
clearanoe O'overing the above matters to enable the forwarding of such report
to higher authority oould be obtained through aotion of the Colorado Water
Conservation Board expressing cooperation and willingness to assist in ob-
taining at the appropriate time the assurances above mentioned.

After disoussion it was moved by Mr. Carpenter, seoonded by Mr. Bailey
that the Colorado Water Conservation Board extend its good offiaes in the
matter of obtaining at the appropriate time the assurances required by the
Corps of Army Engineers in order that the report of the Corps of Army Engineers
on Bear Creek might be fOI'lvarded to higher authority.
