<br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />, The motion was duly passed, adopted and approved by una.nimous vote of the <br />,'Jloard. <br /> <br />, It was moved by Mr. Hinderlider and seoonded by Mr. Foster that the Corps of <br />"Army Engineers be advised that it is the sense of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that the Army Engineers be requested to give oareful oonsideration, if they <br />have not already donesQ, to the need for flood oontrol of the Bear Creek Valley <br />below the town of Morrison and to report the Corps I oonolusions. <br /> <br />The motion was duly passed, adopted and approved. <br /> <br />As a part of the minutes of this meeting the Direotor hereby inserts and <br />makes a part of these minutes the reply which he has received from the Corps of <br />Army Engineers to the statements whioh he made respeoting the action of the Board <br />on the Bear Creek flood oontrol assurances above mentioned. The reply of the Corps <br />of Army Engineers is as follows I <br /> <br />"WAR DEPARTMENT <br />Omaha, Nebraska <br /> <br />Mr. Clifford H. Stone, Direotor, <br />Colorado State Water Conservation Board, <br />Denver, Colorado. <br /> <br />November 28, 1940 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Stone: <br /> <br />Reoeipt is aoknow1edged of your letter of November 26, 1940, reporting <br />the aotion of the Colorado Wat~r Conservation Board in providing assuranoe <br />of its oooperation with other local interests to oomply with the require- <br />ments of local cooperation in connection with flood control on Bear Cree~, <br />Colorado. I am pleased to inform you that information received from Mr. <br />C. L. Patterson informing me of the action of the board and of your forlh- <br />coming reporl thereon, has enabled me to complete the report on Bear Creek <br />and submit it to higher authority. <br /> <br />The investigation of Bear Creek has included the entire Bear Creek <br />Valley. The need for flood control below the town of Morrison has been <br />thoroughly investigated, and it has been given full oonsideration in the <br />report. <br /> <br />I wish to take this opportunity to express my appreoiation for the <br />assistance that you and Mr. Patterson have given me in proouring the necessary <br />assurance of looal oooperation. <br /> <br />Very truly yours, <br /> <br />/s/ W. Dille made a report of the recent meeting of the National Reolamation <br />Association held at Great Falls, Montana, on September 24, 25, and 26, 1940. <br />Fifty-seven persons were registered as appearing from Colorado representing all <br />parts of the State. There should be noted there ware nine persons registered <br />from Denver who were not actually in attendance. This resulted from the c01lllllend- <br />
