<br /> <br />Direotor Stone reported on the" proposed oontraot betl'een the Ste,te of <br />Ari"ollA and the United States tor the use of Colorado River water from Lake Mead. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Dille that the Board give their <br />final approval to the oontraot whioh was tentatively <br />approved by the Board at the last meeting respeoting . <br />the Ari "onll; and Nevada> contraots with the United <br />States; for the delivery of water fram I6ke Mead. <br /> <br />The motion was seoonded by Mr. Pughe and unanimously oarried and <br />deolared passed. <br /> <br />Direotor Stone reported.that Commissioner Lawson of the International <br />Boundary Commission, United States; and Mexico, had advised the Committee of <br />Sixteen of the Colorado River Basin Statell that the. Stat. Department had been <br />negotiating with Mexioo and that oertain eonelus1ons had been-reached whioh he <br />wished to repon to the committee. He sll1d that a meeting of the Committee of <br />aixteen had been called for Salt Lake City on January 27th at which time a motion <br />offered by California would probably be eonslderedpertaining to the poliey of the <br />oommittee reviewing a11 contraot~ having to do with Colorado River water. <br /> <br />It was moved' by Attorney General Ireland that the <br />Directo~ be authori"ed to invite a representative from <br />each of the interested areas of the State to attend the <br />meeting of the Committee of Sixteen at Salt I:ake City, <br />Utah on January 27th, in addition to those who are <br />Mered! ted ,as representat! ve51 fram Colorado on the <br />committe" or who lIiO,t as consultants to the Oolorado <br />r"presentatives. <br /> <br />The motion was seoonded by Mr. Dille and unanimously passed. <br /> <br />The meeting was recessed at l2=30 P.M. to reconvene at 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />- - - - - - ~ - - <br /> <br />The meeting was reoonvened and oalled to order at 2:35 P.M. by <br />Vioe-chairm8.n Chris ..aUrioh. <br /> <br />Director Stone reported that when the Colorado cauoua met during <br />the reoent National ReclllllJation Assootation Convention in Denver, the <br />advisability of Colorado beooming e. melllber of the Missouri River Basin Statelf, <br />Committee was discussed. No action was taken since it WlU. felt that the <br />decision Should be made by the Colorado Water Conservation 'Board. <br /> <br />&-.general discussion of the Missouri River Basin problema; followed <br />duriEg which all member a, connnentedon the advisability of Colore.do joining thi. <br />committee. <br /> <br />It _a moved by Mr. Nelson that Direotor Stone be instruoted <br />to secure representation for Colorado on the Missouri River <br />Basin Statelf Committee. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded: by Mr, Bailey and unanimously passed. <br />~ ',,,,, <br /> <br />~ disoussion of appointment. to r.presen~ Colorado on the oommittee <br />followed but ,no action was taken. <br />
