Direotor Stone reported on the" proposed oontraot betl'een the Ste,te of Ari"ollA and the United States tor the use of Colorado River water from Lake Mead. It was moved by Mr. Dille that the Board give their final approval to the oontraot whioh was tentatively approved by the Board at the last meeting respeoting . the Ari "onll; and Nevada> contraots with the United States; for the delivery of water fram I6ke Mead. The motion was seoonded by Mr. Pughe and unanimously oarried and deolared passed. Direotor Stone reported.that Commissioner Lawson of the International Boundary Commission, United States; and Mexico, had advised the Committee of Sixteen of the Colorado River Basin Statell that the. Stat. Department had been negotiating with Mexioo and that oertain eonelus1ons had been-reached whioh he wished to repon to the committee. He sll1d that a meeting of the Committee of aixteen had been called for Salt Lake City on January 27th at which time a motion offered by California would probably be eonslderedpertaining to the poliey of the oommittee reviewing a11 contraot~ having to do with Colorado River water. It was moved' by Attorney General Ireland that the Directo~ be authori"ed to invite a representative from each of the interested areas of the State to attend the meeting of the Committee of Sixteen at Salt I:ake City, Utah on January 27th, in addition to those who are Mered! ted ,as representat! ve51 fram Colorado on the committe" or who lIiO,t as consultants to the Oolorado r"presentatives. The motion was seoonded by Mr. Dille and unanimously passed. The meeting was recessed at l2=30 P.M. to reconvene at 2:00 P.M. - - - - - - ~ - - The meeting was reoonvened and oalled to order at 2:35 P.M. by Vioe-chairm8.n Chris ..aUrioh. Director Stone reported that when the Colorado cauoua met during the reoent National ReclllllJation Assootation Convention in Denver, the advisability of Colorado beooming e. melllber of the Missouri River Basin Statelf, Committee was discussed.
