III d moved the passage of the <br />~ <br />resolution: <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Honorable Lawrenoe Lewis. a member of Congress <br />from the First Congressional Distriot of Colorado, departed <br />thilt life on Deoember 9. 194~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS Congressman Lewis not only had served his- Congressional <br />DiBtriot and the State of Colorado in at, oonstruotive and- effeot- <br />ive manner and devote.. untiring effort. for the general welfare <br />of the people of the State. but _ pe.rtioularly alive .to the <br />problema of water conservation and 1'1000 control. and in his <br />capaci~ as, Congressman was responsible, in a large measure. for <br />obtaining desirable project developments within, the State; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water' Conservation <br />Board that there be placed in the record. of the proeeedinglt <br />of thiB Board a recognition of the work which ..C1QI1grelillplBJ! LewilJ <br />performed in the interest ~ water oonservation and developnent <br />in the State of Colorado, and that this Board! express the deep <br />regret of itlt msber&; over the passing of a public Itervant who <br />h&a served the State and HatioD in Congres&; in an outstanding <br />manner. Congressman Lewia played a oonspicuous part ,in the <br />development of Colorado resouroea with devotion and vision and <br />with an energy that contributed to the 1lnpairment of his health. <br />Present water resouroes plans and projeot&; of the Stat. stand as <br />5 monument to his work in oooperation with others: engaged in the <br />advanoement of the State's eoonomio welfare. <br /> <br />The motion was seoonded by Mr. Nelson, unanimously oarried and <br />deolared passed. <br /> <br />Mr., Nelson made a statement regarding post-war plaJllling _ying that too <br />muoh stres., is ooingplaoed on projeots merely for relief of unemployment and that <br />more thought should be given to the plaJllling of projeote for,the.oonefioialim- <br />provement of the West. <br /> <br />All business: having been finiBhed. the meeting adjourned at ;:10, P.M. <br />Thursday.
