M. to reconvene at 10:00 A.M., <br />Thursday. January 6, 1944. <br /> <br />----. <br /> <br />. The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman C.hris Wallrioh <br />at 10:45 A. M. <br /> <br />Director Stone reported on the'Colo~e R~ver~elopment fund and <br />the difficulties: facing the Bureau nOW' in getting. suffi,oient men to work on <br />invest~gations. He also gave an explanation of the proposed plan of re- ' <br />organization of the Bureau of Reclamation. He, discussed their proposed plan <br />relating to personnel, process of reports. policy, ,administration. construction <br />and 1 egal pha"",s. <br /> <br />. <br />The problem of the difficulties encountered! on some projeots which <br />are in .charge of two regional men of ,the ,.Bur.eau was ne-xt, consider.ed and discussed. <br /> <br />It _s moved by Mr. Dille and aecondedby Mr. Bailey <br />that Miss Pointer, Judge 0 'Rourke and Mr. Smith be <br />appointed as a cmmnittee to advise with Director Stone <br />in contacting the Ccmmissioner of the Bureau of <br />Reclamation and some of the other States to .secure <br />some expressiona of policy regar.ding the jurisdictions <br />over projectlll by Bureau offichla whioh 11e in two or <br />more regions. <br /> <br />The motion w&a unanimcusly carried and declared passed. <br /> <br />Director Stone stated that the Bureau of the Budget and other <br />government officials and agencie8l in Washington apparently have adopted the <br />policy of freezing the money in the Colorado River Developmellt Fund and that <br />this is hindering the progress. of projeot investigatiOll8 in the Colorado <br />River Basin. <br /> <br />It was moved by Miss PoiI\ter that the minutes, of the <br />meeting of June 28. 194}, be approved. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Pughe and unanimOUSly carried. <br />
