Mr. Pag., gave an explanation of the re- <br />organi&ation set-up. <br /> <br />Mr. Patterson gave an explanation 01' reports and invutigationa; whioh <br />are being made in the Arkansas, River Basin. He presented a map which indicated <br />the major- projeot investigational areas in Colorado, and gave an explanation of <br />the problems and proposed remedies in each area. ' <br /> <br />The meeting recessed at 12:~ P.M., to reconvene a1; 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting reoonvened at 2:25 P.M. and was called to order by Vioe- <br />Chairman Ohris' USllrioh. <br /> <br />Direotor Stone announoed that while Mr. Page was present disoussion <br />of the development program. and projeot investigations should be oonoluded. Mr. <br />George Pughe spoke relative to the SavorY and Pothook projects. Thia'wasc followed <br />by a statement by Mr. Patterson relative to the situation in the Little Snake area. <br /> <br />Jean S. Breitenstein presented a brief outline of the statue; of the inte <br />s'tate li'tigs:t:ion (Colorado vs. Kansas and Nebraska vs. Wyoming and Colorado, United' <br />States, Intervener). He said that the deoision of the Supreme Couri; in 'the Arkansasl <br />Rivett' case would apparently be deoisive; on many of the iBsue&; in the North Platte <br />oase. He stated that there would be another hearing next week in St. Paul before <br />the MasteX'" appointed in the North Platte oase and that it would be impossible for <br />that oase to be argued in the Supreme Court before the fall of 1944'. He also added' <br />that the viotory in the Colorado v. Kansa8- oase is'the result of the good work of <br />Mr. Patterson and all the others. <br /> <br />It walt- moved DY Mr. Dille and seoonded by Mr. Smith that a vote of thank. <br />and appreoiation of the Colorado Water Conservation Board be given to Mr. <br />and Mr. Breitenstein for their splendidiwork iII the Arkans.s- River case. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimou81y oarri~d and deolared passed. <br /> <br />Direator Stone stated that there are two major projeat investigations <br />being oarried on in Oalorado by the Bureau of Realaltlll.tion; the Gunnison-Arkansa. <br />under Mr. Thompson and Mr. JeX', and the Blue-River_South Platte under Mr. Bunger. <br />He reported tha't; Mr. Thompson has about oompleted the basin_ study in the Arkansas <br />Valley and Hr. Jex has carried on sane Water supply and reservoir studies in the <br />Gunnison Basin. Sinoe. this projeot is in t"o Region. under the reorganization <br />plan of the Bureau of Recle.me.tion, Direotor Stone expressed the hope that the <br />Bureau would place one man in charge of these transmountain projeot proposals in . <br />order to expedite the investigation of these projeotlF and suggested that the matter' <br />should further be taken up with the Bureau of Reolamation. <br />
