Associate Director. reported that the <br />following applications. for study and funding. have been <br />received: <br /> <br />1. Green Mountain Exchange. <br />2. Cache la Poudre Basin-wide study. <br />3. Clear Creek Basin study. <br />4. San Luis Valley Confined Aquifer study. <br />5. conejos Water Conservancy District Water Management <br />study. <br />6. Webster Hill Feasibility study. <br /> <br />On-going studies include: <br /> <br />1. St. Vrain Basin study. <br />2. Four Corners Water Management study. <br />3. pagosa Springs Project - Domestic Water. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Aqenda Item 8 - Bureau of Reclamation Hiqh Mountain Aquifer <br />Study - Appendix C <br /> <br />In discussing this item. Mr. McDonald recalled that the <br />Board had discussed this proposed study at its March. 1984. <br />meeting. By formal motion. the Board indicated its support for <br />the study as then outlined. with the understanding that no <br />state funds would be available for cost-sharing in the study. <br /> <br />In May. 1984. the Bureau of Reclamation prepared a draft <br />plan of study and in August. 1984. the Bureau entered into a <br />contract with the Cory Company which provided for a joint study <br />and cost-sharing arrangements to determine the viability of <br />using glacial alluvia in the high mountain valleys of Colorado <br />as ground-water "storage reservoirs." <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Martin. Regional Director. Bureau of Reclamation. <br />Lower Missouri Region. addressed the Board to explain the <br />proposed study and the relationship between the Bureau and the <br />cory Company in the conduct of the study. <br /> <br />In the ensuing Board discussions. several issues were <br />raised about the securing of water rights. the Cory Company's <br />plans for disposal of water. and several provisions of the <br />contract. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
