MR~ ROBBINS: Would you make copies available to those of us?

MR. FISCHER: -You mean on the Indian reserve rights?

MR. ROBBINS: Yes.

MR. FISCHER: Sure. _ You bet~

I

MR._ SPARKS: In the normal course -- the 25th was a Monday - we would
receive it about Friday, after the hearings are over.

MR;STAPLETON: Are there any other_comments?

MR. ADKINS: Ralph Adkins, President of the Colorado Water Congress. We
do not expect to make a statement tomorrow or Friday, but we-do expect
to file a written statement by the 9th.

MR. STAPLETON: Thank you, Ralph.

-
Are there any other c01IIlllents?-

MR.- PHIPPS: Earl Phipps, Northern_Colorado Water Conservancy District.
We-will-not makea:statement at the hearing, but we do plan to have a
written connnent and get it.in before the deadline time.- We have -the
same problem as everyone else. There just wasn't enough time.

MR. STAPLETON: -Mr. Pascoe.

MR. PASCOE: Mr; Chairman; there is same-confusion about the deadline..
The Federal Register says, "All connnents can~be made by the 20th of -
August. " But the summary sheet sent out by the Missouri River Basin
Commission said that they are to be made and received by the:5th in
Omaha or by the 9th in Washington, D. C. So it may be helpful if we can
simply clarify that-procedure.

MR. SPARKS: I have before me the outline of procedures -issued by the
Missouri River Basin Commission.--Itsays that additional written
c01IIlllents will be included in the record if received-by the Chairman 'of
the Missouri River Basin Commission by August 5:or by the U. S. Water
Resources Council not later than August 9.

-
MR. PASCOE: In the publication in the Federal Register, it seems to say
that the record from all hearings will remain open for c01IIlllents till
August 20.

.
MR. SPARKS: The differene is that we we are referring to here, the
August 5 and 9, would be the part of. the record of the hearings held
here in Denver. The August 20 date is simply a closing date for all of
the hearings, and it does not refer-to any specific area hearing.

I

MR. STAPLETON: By-that, do you mean,-Larry,-that if you wanted it
included in the package that comes from these hearings, it has to be in
by the 5th or the 9th?

-18-
