then we'll turn to the next item on the agenda,
the report of the U. S. Geological Survey. Mr.
Odell, will you make that report, please?"

~Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, the
runoff for the State of Colorado was deficient
for the month of October except in the southwest
where it was well below median and in the foot-
hills area of the South Platte basin where it
was slightly above median. Flow at the index
stations on the Arkansas River at Canon city
and Roaring Fork at Glenwood Springs were both
record lows for the month of October. There
hasn't been any evidence since the first of
November that there has been any particular
change in the situation.

Construction of the new gaging stations
that were scheduled for this summer has been
completed. There were some 20 new stations
that were installed. Computations of the
records for the 1963 water year, surface water
records, is well under way.

The Surface Water and Quality of Water
offices here in Denver were recently moved from
the Federal Center to 1455 Ammons Street. This
move took place on the 1st of October. Formal
notices haven't been sent out primarily because
no change was made in either our mailing address
or our telephone number. We have informally
advised some of the people who visit the office
on occasion..

In our ground water work, the report
'Water in Dakota and Purgatoire Formations in
Otero County and the Southern Part of Crowley
County', was published as a Water-Supply Paper
No. l669-P. The report was prepared in cooper-
ation with this Board and copies are available
for purchase at the Geological Survey Public
Inquiries Offices, in the Custom House down-
town here in Denver, or from the Superintendent
of Documents in WashingtQn.
