which includes, by the way, a contribution
from the people' in that area, at least we
can keep the project alive to some extent."

"How much was that contribution?"

'$1700.00."

"You will recall at our meeting at the
Farmers' Union Building in Denver on April
8th that Mr. Eakes and a delegation of peo-
ple from the Durango area spoke on this sit-
uation. Do any members of the Board have any
questions on this?"

"I would like to inquire whether the San
Miguel Conservancy District has any money
available for that project."

"Some of that money is from the District.
It is a new District and there is not too
much money available as yet." .

"Is that where the $1700 carne from?"

"Part of it, yes. Part of it is dona-
tions from people in that area, donations
from $1.00 up."

"I would like to state that being some-
what familiar with the San Miguel area,
water is being used on irrigated lands that
could use more water. Nonirrigated lands
could be cultivated if water were available.
I think this is one of the very worthwhile
projects and should be given our help."

"Thank you Mr. Peterson. Do you wish
to make a motion on this cooperative agree-
ment?"

"I will move that the Director be given
authority to enter into a cooperative agree-
ment whereby the State will contribute $22,000
to further the San Miguel project;"

"It has been moved by Mr. Peterson and
seconded by Mr. Miller that we enter into
a cooperative agreement on the San Miguel
