Floodway concept - The area of the Designated <br />Floodplain District that must be kept free of <br />development so the base flood can pass with no more <br />than a .5 foot increase in the water surface <br />elevation or the energy grade line, provided <br />hazardous velocities are not produced. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />If the ZlIlIer/Yl00dplaill Flood Conveyance Subdistrict <br />is not identified, it is considered to be identical to the <br />Designated Floodplain District. <br /> <br />M0~iZe Manufactured Home - A structure, transportable <br />in one or more sections, which is built on a permanent <br />chassis, and is designed for use with or without a <br />permanent foundation when connected to the required <br />utilities. l~e This term d0et/1I0t also <br />includes retreati011al ~e~itlet 01' park <br />trailers, travel trailers and other similar vehicles <br />placed on a site for greater than 180 consecutive days. <br /> <br />. M0~iZe Manufactured home park or subdivision - A <br />parcel (or contigous parcels) of land divided into two or <br />more ~0~ile manufactured home lots for rent of sale. <br /> <br />Mean Sea Level - means, for purposes of the National Flood <br />Insurance Program, the National Geodetic Vertical Datum . <br />(NGVD) of 1929 or other datum, to which base flood <br />elevations shown on a community's Flood Insurance Rate Map <br />are referenced. <br /> <br />New Construction - Structures for which the "start of <br />construction" commenced on or after the effective date of <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />Nonconforminq Structures - Any structure which does not <br />comply with the terms and provisions of these regulations <br />but which was in existence or for which construction had <br />started on the effective date of these regulations. <br /> <br />Nonconforminq Use - Any use or activity which does not <br />comply with the use requirements of these regulations but <br />which was in existence on the effective date of these <br />regulations. <br /> <br />Obstruction - Any development, .stockpile, refuse, or <br />matter in, along, ac-oss, or projecting into any <br />floodplain which migh~ impede, retard, or change the <br />direction of a flow of water, either by itself or by <br />catching or collecting debris carried by such water. <br /> <br />Official Maps - Maps delineating Designated Floodplain <br />Districts, including, where applicable, ZlIlIer/YZ00dpZaill . <br />Flood Conveyance Subdistricts and 0l1lter/YZ00dpZaill <br />Flood Storage Subdistricts, and Floodprone Districts which <br /> <br />-6- <br />
