Detailed land <br />classification surveys are scheduled to start in the spring of <br />1957. <br /> <br />Florida Project.--Topographic surveys of Lemon Reservoir site <br />are continuing and approximately 6,750 acres of land have been <br />classified in detail. The definite plan report will be completed <br />late in the F.Y. 1958. <br /> <br />Pine River Project Extension.--Work on strip topography for the <br />King Consolidated Enlargement and detailed land classification <br />surveys is continuing. Progress on water supply studies has been <br />slow because of the water-right problems involved and the need <br />for studying the various water-right possibilities. The definite <br />plan report is scheduled for completion in the F. Y. 1958. <br /> <br />Projects-Feasibility Report <br /> <br />Fruitland Mesa Project.--Topographic surveys for the Big Soap <br />Park Reservoir have been completed and obtainment of strip topo- <br />graphy for the Highline Canal is continuing. Land classifica- <br />tion field surveys have been completed. The feasibility report <br />will be completed in the F.Y. 1958. <br /> <br />~ostwick Park Project.--Detailed land classification surveys are <br />complete but tabulations and office work on the areas classified <br />are not yet complete. Completion of the feasibility report will <br />follow the Fruitland Mesa Project Report. <br /> <br />Dolores Project.--Topographic surveys of project lands and de- <br />tailed land classification work are continuing. Completion of <br />authorizing report is scheduled for the F.Y. 1959. <br /> <br />Animas-La Plata Project.--Project land topography is being accom- <br />plished by Fairchild Aerial Surveys. It is planned to undertake <br />some detailed land classification work during the winter months. <br />The Ute Mountain Indian Tribe had previously declined to include <br />their land in the potential development but have now passed a <br />tribal resolution asking to be included. This action is particu- <br />larly encouraging as the ~leadows Reservoir site is located in the <br />reservation. Completion of the feasibility report has a scheduled <br />date for the F.Y. 1962, however, we are still hopeful of seeing <br />this investigation speeded up and the report coming out in 1960, <br />which follows reports on Florida, pine River Extension and Dolores <br />projects. <br /> <br />West Divide Project.--Bids were received on October 26th for <br />photogrammetric mapping of about l12,ODO acres encompassing the <br />project lands. Low bidder on this schedule was World-Wide Carto- <br />graphy of San Antonio, Texas, at a price of $113,820. To award <br />the contract it would be necessary to obligate the full amount <br />
