I

I

520

that we will proceed separately on this item and make an award to
Ryall Engineering on their low bid of $17,500. Detailed land
classification surveys are scheduled to start in the spring of
1957.

Florida Project.--Topographic surveys of Lemon Reservoir site
are continuing and approximately 6,750 acres of land have been
classified in detail. The definite plan report will be completed
late in the F.Y. 1958.

Pine River Project Extension.--Work on strip topography for the
King Consolidated Enlargement and detailed land classification
surveys is continuing. Progress on water supply studies has been
slow because of the water-right problems involved and the need
for studying the various water-right possibilities. The definite
plan report is scheduled for completion in the F. Y. 1958.

Projects-Feasibility Report

Fruitland Mesa Project.--Topographic surveys for the Big Soap
Park Reservoir have been completed and obtainment of strip topo-
graphy for the Highline Canal is continuing. Land classifica-
tion field surveys have been completed. The feasibility report
will be completed in the F.Y. 1958.

~ostwick Park Project.--Detailed land classification surveys are
complete but tabulations and office work on the areas classified
are not yet complete. Completion of the feasibility report will
follow the Fruitland Mesa Project Report.

Dolores Project.--Topographic surveys of project lands and de-
tailed land classification work are continuing. Completion of
authorizing report is scheduled for the F.Y. 1959.

Animas-La Plata Project.--Project land topography is being accom-
plished by Fairchild Aerial Surveys. It is planned to undertake
some detailed land classification work during the winter months.
The Ute Mountain Indian Tribe had previously declined to include
their land in the potential development but have now passed a
tribal resolution asking to be included. This action is particu-
larly encouraging as the ~leadows Reservoir site is located in the
reservation. Completion of the feasibility report has a scheduled
date for the F.Y. 1962, however, we are still hopeful of seeing
this investigation speeded up and the report coming out in 1960,
which follows reports on Florida, pine River Extension and Dolores
projects.

West Divide Project.--Bids were received on October 26th for
photogrammetric mapping of about l12,ODO acres encompassing the
project lands. Low bidder on this schedule was World-Wide Carto-
graphy of San Antonio, Texas, at a price of $113,820. To award
the contract it would be necessary to obligate the full amount
