a consolidation and coordination is an im-
possibility. I tend to agree with your state-
ment that time has been lost in this state's
attempt at integration of water uses, Never-
theless. it's about the same way with the
package of nine bills. It will be difficult
and time consuming to thread back and forth
and take the best of each bill and decide
upon the necessary elements and upon those
which are not. So. I think your comments
were quite pertinent."

"As you will recall. Mr. Chairman. the
last meeting of the Colorado Water conserva-
tion Board was my first meeting as a member
of the Board. I'm still not unduly hampered
by a great knowledge of all the facts. I'm
just going to make a couple of observations.

I recall aoking you at that time to
urge the Board not to take any particular
position on any particular bit of legislation
in the hope that we might be able to bring
about some sort of consolidation of the views
which were different. expressed by the Geis-
singer committee who. after all, are at least
working for the office in which I sit. I
sometimes would like to have them referred to
as the Department of Natural Resources task
force rather than the Geissinger committee.
But I understand the personal identification
is really useful in this instance.

I talked to Larry and we discussed this
matter a little bit. It appeared that Larry
really wanted to put together this alternative
draft. I'm not one to take out of context com-
ments about how late in the day alternatives
