:;>uoo

the Dallas Creek, West Divide, and San Miguel
projects. All of those project reports are
completed. When we left Washington the Animas-
La plata project had not yet been resubmitted
to the Bureau of the Budget. There was some
problem in connection with the Indian lands I
that had not been resolved. Congressman
Aspinall was taking it upon himself to work
that problem out. We anticipate any day now,
if it has not in fact already been submitted,
that it will go to the Bureau of the Budget.
But the Bureau of the Budget did request a
review of that project; it was reviewed; and
the project plan was altered somewhat so the
poorer farm lands were taken out. It appears,
therefore, that the final reports on the four
remaining projects can be transmitted to the
Congress before the 1st of May. Actually we
are hopeful that it will be done by about the
end of next \"ee], so that there will be ample
time for the Interior and Insular Affairs
committee to give notice of the hearings. If
it appears that these reports will be ready by
about the 1st of May, or before, then hearings
will be held during the week of May 9th. We I
are quite confident at this time that those
hearings will proceed. .

In any event, Congressman Aspinall expects
to announce shortly the final and definite
dates for the hearings. We anticipate that
