project, since our last report to this Board,
the Chief of Engineers has approved the chat-
field Feasibility Report. In March, the Corps
of Engineers presented testimony on the Chat-
field project to the Senate and House Committees I
on public Works. During the Senate hearings,
Senator Allott requested information on the
capabilities of the Corps of Engineers to
initiate construction in Fiscal Year 1967. The
Committee was informed that we have a construc-
tion capability of $6,000,000 in Fiscal Year
1967. Similar testimony was provided in the
House Committee hearings. The breakdown of
this capability is: completion of preconstruc-
tion planning, $481,000; acquisition of lands,
$5,000,000; initial project construction and
continuation of design during construction,
$519,000; total $6,000,000. Since the first
of the year, we have conducted discussions with
various interests affected by the chatfield
project regarding relocation planning. We
have conferred principally with the Denver
Water Board, the City of Aurora, the Colorado
Highway Department, the ~~rtin Company, the
railroad companies, Colorado Public Service,
and the Mountain States Telephone company.

Our planning and design schedules provide
for completion of the following items:

completion of preliminary Master plan
in April 1966; completion of hydrologic design
criteria in June 1966; and completion of
general design criteria in July 1966.

I would like to add our schedules for
fiscal year 1967 are, completion of our real
estate criteria for the construction area in
August of 1966, and regarding specific design
criteria as a basis for contract specifica-
tions our completion schedules are as follows:
