pericd, 1931-60.

The fcllowing tabulaticn shows the per-
centage cf ncrmal fer representative gaging
stations:
staticn % of normal, reference period 1931-60 I
April May June July August Octcber 1965
to
Auqust 1966
Animas River
at Durangc 125 120 70 89 85 99
Roaring Fcrk at
Glenwood spgs. 112 92 50 65 80 77
Yampa River at
steamboat Spgs. 72 78 26 46 64 64
Arkansas River at
Cancn City 151 110 62 97 135 95
clear creek near
Golden 76 49 36 56 88 58

I think it is rather surprising, Mr. Cran-
dall had mentioned that we benefited early in
the water year and scme cf cur percentages
there ran up as high as 151 percent of normal
for the Arkansas River last April and earlier
in the water year the flew was considerably
above normal tco. Ne tabulated these for the
varicus mcnths, April thrcugh August, and
probably cne of the cuts tanding cnes. is the
deficiency of flew on the Yampa River at steam-
boat Springs fer the mcnth of June. This
dropped clear down to 26 percent. However,
since that time that has been ccming up scme
and August was 64 percent. The accumulated
average fer the first 11 mcnths cf the water
year was alsc 64 percent. But early last I
spring there was a let cf publicity abcut the
deficiency cf sncw in the Arkansas basin but
if you will nctice the table fer the first 11
mcnths of the water year was 95 percent of
ncrmal. SC either there was some hidden snow
up there scme place cr it rained quite a bit,
one cf the two.
