I

I

GOV. JOHNSON:

NR. CRANDALL:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. CRANDALL:

the lccaticn of existing secticn and quarter-
secticn ccrners. There are a number Of tcwn-
ships with cnly reck ccrners established in the
1890's which shculd be resurveyed. An early
meeting with the Bureau cf Land Nanagement is
being arranged tc wcrk cut a scluticn to this
problem.

Gentlemen, that ccncludes our repcrt. I
might just add, I think, at the Upper Ccloradc
River Ccmmissicn meeting and Gcverncr Jchnson's
question about the Juniper project, I looked
intc it a little mere and I hcpe am a little
better prepared tc say a little scmething about
Juniper than I was then. We have Juniper in cur
lcng-range study prcgram as next after the
Basalt prcject which is the priority listing
that Mr. Sparks indicated at the commission
meeting. As we get alcng with all cf these
prcjects and the water supply gets further and
further identified we have, cf ccurse, the
prcblems that we are all familiar with abcut
assigning the water uses beth within the State
cf Cclcradc and under the Ccmpact. But Juniper,
in cur thinking, is cne cf the potentials that
can go alcng for study. Of ccurse, we wculd
lcok fer and need the guidance from the appropri-
ate state interests in doing sc.

That ccncludes my reports and observations,
Mr. Chairman."

"Hr. Crandall, in connecticn with Juniper
and what ycu have just new said, which is a let
mere satisfactcry than ycur reply at Salt Lake
tc the Upper Colcradc River Ccmmissicn, it is
a disappcintment to net find anything in your
repcrt abcut Yellcw Jacket."

"I'm scrry. I may have slipped by that in
briefing. "

"It's on page five."

"We are moving alcng en it, Gcvernor."
