<br />. <br /> <br />Water Source: GVIC Mainlain <br />Terms of Loan: $100,000 @3.5% for 30-years <br /> <br />Project Yield: 960 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Lateral Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Tilton Lateral is located off headgate No. 160 of the Grand Valley Irrigation Canal (GVre), which is located in <br />southeast Grand Junction. The Tilton Lateral Company operates the lateral to supply 36 shareholders water to irrigate <br />a 177-acre service area. The existing lateral is in poor condition and delivers only one half of its allocated water. The <br />project involves the construction of a new concrete inlet structure at the UP Railroad crossing, the placement of 2,500 <br />linear feet of low head pipe, and the replacement of 10,000 linear feet of existing concrete ditch with high head pipe. <br />The project was designed by the NRCS Grand Junction Office and put out to bid in February of 2003. Only one bid <br />was received at that time, which was rejected due to its high cost. The Tilton Lateral Company is currently working <br />on an altemative design with a private consultant to obtain a project that meets their available funds. Project is <br />tentatively on-hold pending resolution of available funds by Tilton Lateral. <br /> <br />5. Silt Water Conservancy District - System Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Garfield <br />Water Source: Colorado River Project Yield: 18,000 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $1,019,700 @2.75% for 30-years Project Type: System Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Silt Water Conservancy District operates a system consisting of reservoirs, canals, pump plants, and irrigation <br />laterals varying in age from 50-100-years old. This project involves the rehabilitation of the Grass Valley Canal <br />siphon, addressing seepage at the Harvey Gap Dam, sediment removal from the spillway chute at Rifle Gap Dam, and <br />replacement of the pumps at the District's main Pump Plant. The project is currently under design by the Bureau of <br />Reclamation and is scheduled for construction in the fall of2005, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />6. Silt Water Conservancy District - Pump Plant Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Garfield <br />Water Source: Colorado River Project Yield: n/a <br />Terms of Loan: $486,000 @2.75% for 30-years Project Type: n/a <br /> <br />The Silt Water Conservancy District operates a pump plant on the Colorado River to deliver water to its Pump <br />Canal, which serves agricultural users on the lower reaches of Silt Mesa. The pump plant was built in the 1960's <br />and is located 2 miles east of the Town of Silt. The current pumping plant has a capacity of 36 cfs and delivers <br />4,000 acre-feet per year. Excel Energy must replace the existing pump plant transformer due to an upgrade of <br />transmission line. Western Area Power Administration will design the project in 2003. The total project cost is <br />anticipated at $550,000. Excel Energy has indicated to Silt that the need for the new transformer will not be <br />required until 2006/07. Loan contract will be modified to accommodate the time extension. <br />7. Union Ditch Company - Well Augmentation Project <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Trust Fund County: Weld <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 206 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $309,500 @2.50% for320-yearsProject Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Union Ditch Company provides irrigation water to an area of 5,500 acres east of the Town of LaSalle and <br />south of Greeley. The Union Ditch Company has filed application for an augmentation plan to provide replacement <br />water for 40 junior wells owned by the shareholders, formerly serviced by GASP. This project involves the <br />development of 3 recharge ponds, placement of flow measurement devices, and head gate structures into the ponds. <br />The ponds will be filled by gravity flow from the Union Ditch. Union Ditch Company is planning on construction <br />1 ofthe recharge ponds this spring (Mecure # I site) with the remaining 2 ponds to be constructed in the fall/winter <br />of 2005/06. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />8.
