The project is under construction and is anticipated to be operational by March of 2005. <br /> <br />4, Upper Platte & Beaver Canal Company- Well Augmentation Project <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Morgan - Near Fort Morgan <br />Water Source: South Platte Basin Project Yield: 32,500 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $67,500 @2,25%for IO-years Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Upper Platte and Beaver Canal Company operates the Canal for the benefit of their 100 shareholders by providing <br />direct flow irrigation water to an II,OOO-acre service area. The diversion and headgate are located on the South Platte <br />River, about one mile northeast of Fort Morgan, There are 97 junior irrigation wells under the Upper Platte and Beaver <br />system. The Company will cover the depletions of these wells by constructing two recharge ponds, to be filled from the <br />Upper Platte and Beaver Canal under the Company's 1972 augmentation decree. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering <br />Services, Fort Morgan, Colorado, is the project engineer. The project commenced construction in the fall of 2003 and <br />is 95% complete. Project completion is scheduled for February of 2005. <br /> <br />5, Stromberger Land and Cattle Company LLC - Augmentation Recharge <br />Authorization: $414,000 County: Logan <br />Water Source: South Platte Basin Project Yield: 5,000 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $414,000 @2.50% for 20-years Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Stromberger Land and Cattle Company operates a family ranch located 15 miles south of Sterling, Colorado. <br />The ranch currently operates 12 wells that are augmented under the Groundwater Appropriators of the South platte <br />(GASP). GASP operates on a year-to-year basis with no guarantee of continued coverage. The current drought <br />conditions have brought to the foreground the difficulty of providing augmentation for well users. The <br />Stromberger's project will provide its own augmentation water to protect itself against possible curtailment by <br />GASP. Construction activities include drilling 6 wells to pump water to a series of constructed recharge ponds <br />have been completed. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by February of 2005. <br />6, Orchard City Irrigation District - Ditch Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Trust Fund County: Delta <br />Water Source: Dry/Current Creek Project Yield: 2,000 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $1 02,457@2.50% for 30-years Project Type: Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Orchard City Irrigation District is located outside Orchard City, approximately 12 miles northeast of the City <br />of Delta. The District has 403 shareholders, which are made up of primarily small acreages. This project involves <br />the rehabilitation of 920 of ditch, by enclosing the ditch section with 48" ADS plastic pipe, a new measuring flume, <br />and the placement of a new steel gate at Fruit Growers Reservoir. The project has been completed. The District <br />has elected to use May I, 2005 for their substantial completion date to coincide with their annual assessments. <br /> <br />7, Grand Mesa Reservoir Company - Rehabilitation of Reservoir No. I and No, 9 <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Mesa <br />Water Source: Gunnison Project Yield: 1,000 Acre-Feet <br />Terms of Loan: $200,000@2.4% for 20-years Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Grand Mesa Reservoir Company operates 6 reservoirs on the Grand Mesa to supply water to 16 shareholders <br />for the irrigation of 500 acres. This project involves the replacement of the outlet structures at each reservoir and <br />also addresses seepage problems at each facility. The project was designed by the City of Grand Junction, one of <br />the major shareholders, and is currently being constructed by the City of Grand Junction. The outlet structures <br />have been installed and the seepage problem corrected at both reservoir locations. The City of Grand Junction is <br />draining the two reservoirs to install the new outlet gates. Project is anticipated to be complete after the winter <br />snows melt in June/July of 2005. <br />
