<br />Director's Report Attachment - Jannary 25 -26, 2005 Board Meeting <br />Water Snpply Planning and Finance Section <br />Design and Construction Status Report <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The CWCB Water Supply Planning and Finance Section has completed 15 projects in FY 04-05 to-date. Currently for <br />FY 04-05 we have 29 projects under cons1ruction and 26 projects in the design phase, involving over $143,000,000 in <br />loan funds <br /> <br />, The attached spreadsheet summarizes project status including budget, cons1ruction schedule, and progress to date. <br />During this current reporting period 9 projects were completed. <br /> <br />The attached progress report briefly outlines all active project design and construction information and progress to date. <br /> <br />Projects Under Construction <br /> <br />1. Low Line Ditch Company - Augmentation Project <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $94,500 @2.75% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Logan <br />Project Yield: 6,650 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Augmentation/Diversion <br /> <br />The Low Line Ditch Company operates the Lowline Ditch for delivery of irrigation water within a 2,070-acre service <br />area. The headgate for the ditch is located in Logan County, at the Town of Sterling. This project includes <br />cons1ruction of 4 augmentation ponds and drilling one augmentation well to generate augmentation credits to cover <br />depletions for 13 irrigation wells used by stockholders of the Company. Additionally the Ditch Company is <br />rehabilitating their diversion s1ructure on the South Platte to include new gates, walk platform, and concrete <br />diversion walls. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering Services is the design engineer. The diversion structure work <br />has been completed and the augmentation efforts are scheduled for completion in February of 2004. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2. Lake Henry Reservoir Company - Lake Henry Rehabilitation Project <br />Authorization: Construction Fund County: Crowley - Near Ordway <br />Water Source: Arkansas Project Yield: 9,500 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $490,000 @ 4.25% for 30-years Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Lake Henry Reservoir is located approximately 5 miles northeast of Ordway and is filled by the Colorado Canal, which <br />diverts water from the Arkansas River. The existing dam was constructed in the early 1900's and was enlarged in <br />1951. The existing reservoir is a Class 2 structure, 18-ft high, impounding approximately 9,500 acre-feet of water. <br />Annual maintenance and repair have been needed to keep the dam in operation and in compliance with the State <br />Engineer's Office. The reservoir has seepage problems and has no emergency spillway. The proposed improvements <br />to the reservoir are the cons1ruction of a toe drain system and the construction ofa new 400-ft. wide spillway to <br />accommodate 50% of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF'). Toe drain installation has been completed. The <br />Company is currently working with the SEO's to resolve the final design of the spillway structure. Spillway resolution <br />and construction are scheduled to be complete in the fall/winter of 2004/05. <br /> <br />3. Smart Brothers Incorporated- Well Augmentation Project <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Account County: Logan <br />Water Source: South Platte Project Yield: 1,500 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $239,850 @2.50%for30years Project Type: We1l Augmentation <br /> <br />The Smart Brothers is a family owned and operated farm and custom cattle feeding operation located . <br />approximately 2 miles southwest of Atwood, consisting of 1,250 acres of irrigated farm ground and 5,000 head <br />feeding operation, with plans to expand to 8,000 head. The farm has 9 tributary wells and 3 commercial wells. <br />The proposed project will add a recharge well at the river, 13,OOO-ft of 18-inch PVC pipeline, and various recharge <br />
